I can't speak to the positive reviews, but if you want a REAL one, then please pay attention. This is what I wrote to Acadahealth (whom has yet to resolve the issue, more on that later).
"I've used the utk far infrared heating pads for years, but they never last with daily use, so I was looking for something different, something better & something even hotter.
I've had my eye on this one for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. I was super excited to get it, but I'm incredibly disappointed.
1. The UTK far infrared heating pads are heavy. The first thing I noticed when I got the box from Acada was how light it was. That was immediately disconcerting. I don't know if that's good or bad, but I do question the quality control. Stones are heavy, this isn't. It's advertised at 6lbs (5.95lbs to be exact) it's not! I weighed myself today and I'm 172.8lbs. Then I held the heating pad (with cord & wearing the same thing) and I was 177.4. That means your heating pad is 4.6lbs and your website is once again misleading.
2. It's not getting hot enough - 70c = 158F. I always used my far infrared heating pads at 145/146f daily. This (AT 70 (and yes, that's after being on and trying it out for 40 minutes feels like 135 -to upper 130's MAX!) I'm used to what 145F feels like, my preferred heat setting on the utk versions, and this is definitely not that! It's not even close. Again... misleading. (Are you sensing a theme here?)
3. The cord is too short. It barely reaches the edge of my bed and that's with the remote dangling in mid air. I can't use it anywhere else on the bed or on the couch without needing and extension cord.
4. My remote is not the one I see on the website page I ordered from, and it's not the one in the owners manual. The one in the owners manual also isn't the one that's on the website page where I purchased this from. ??? Did I get some ancient version dusted off from your warehouse shelves???
5. And why is it in centigrade and not F with no ability to switch to what I'm more familiar with? I understand your company is in England, but the website shows F. It's all over the website page, but that's not what I got.
6. This is not what I was expecting, far from it, and it's certainly not what I paid for. Your website page for this heating pad is FULL of misinformation and flat out lies!
I feel like I was deceived and ripped off. This doesn't work for me, it's not what I want and it's definitely NOT what I ordered.
I just had cancer surgery. This couldn't get here fast enough! This wasn't some impulse buy; it was needed, and now when I send this back to you, I'll have nothing. I'm very, very disappointed and angry about this. I was really hoping you'd be better than your competition, apparently not.
I expect you to fully resolve this issue. If the product you claim to have doesn't exist, then take this cheap knock off version back, and refund me without delay."
That's what I wrote. Word for word.
I've used far infrared heating pads for 8-9 years now. I've mostly used Jade tourmaline ones, maybe these are fake stones? Idk, but if you used other versions, you won't be giving 5 star reviews to this crap.
They responded via email (because they refuse to provide a phone number (that should say something about customer service right there)).
They asked me to basically repeat all my complaints and add pics of the product and the box it came in. I did this a week ago as instructed and no response.
They also told me to send it back. No problem! I have no use for this junk. HOWEVER... they expected me to pay for shipping, despite their FAQ page stating that if you receive a defective and/or wrong product, they will provide shipping. They have NOT provided that or even responded to me yet. If that is no longer on their fact page, then they changed it because of my complaint.
For reference: Purchase date was April 28, 2026. Today is May 13, 2026.
If / when they do send me a prepaid shipping label, I'll very gladly send this cheap garbage back to them.
In the meantime, I'm formally complaining to my bank regarding the charges I paid and Acadahealth's refusal to address the situation. If they don't resolve this issue in the next couple of days, I'll be filing reports on the BBB and with the "Ripoff Report". One way or another, I'll get my money back! I won't stop until I do!
This is not something anyone should be dealing with post cancer surgery!!!!!!!!!
Buyer beware!!!
P.S. They delete your conversations after 7 days (which is weird) so be sure to save them as I did if you have a complaint.
